Odell Beckham Jr. was one of Madden 22 coins the most talked about stories of the week after Beckham and the Cleveland Browns decided to part ways, with his eventual resignation expected to be made in effect on Monday. Naturally, considering how big the Lions roster and their No. top priority when it comes to waivers many are contemplating if Detroit is planning to add him after they get their waiver claim processed.
Personally, I think that there's a very low chance of this happening. Given how the Browns restructured his contract--eliminating both remaining years on his contract, and not adjusting his 2021 salary--it makes little sense for Detroit. They'd need to create considerable room in the cap to include Beckham on the roster for this season, and they'd only play nine games with Beckham (if Beckham doesn't throw at the idea of being in Detroit) prior to becoming an independent player. Yes, they might obtain a compensatory player out of it, but this is when they're not active when it comes to free-agents.
When it comes to Madden you don't have to think about the drama in locker rooms or creating a culture or even worry concerning the pay cap to much.
On this week's Madden sim, we're making Beckham as a Lion, and we're pitting Detroit against the team with the lowest record of the NFL (according to Madden) which is the Houston Texans, in a desperate effort just to see this damn team beat a rival, virtual or otherwise.
